The Deep South Philosophy and Neuroscience Workgroup provides opportunities for interaction between philosophers with interests in science and mind and neuroscientists with philosophical interests in their discipline. Our overriding goal is to share knowledge, insights and reflections on the brain and central nervous system, and the sciences that address it.The regional focus of the group reflects the relatively large number of philosophers interested in neuroscience who hold academic positions at universities and colleges in the American south, as well as the presence of numerous strong neuroscience departments, institutes and programs. We welcome members from other regions of the United States, as well as international members who share our interdisciplinary research interests. In addition to an annual meeting, the group also helps to disseminate opportunities for philosopher-neuroscientist interactions on various media and formats. The group maintains an email list of current and previous participants in its meetings and activities.
